Visual test
Macroscopic examination is used in virtually every industry. We perform macroscopic examination on metals, metal alloys, and welds. Macroscopic examination consists of visual tests that are often used to determine the material type, the quality, or grain size during production processes, after damage, suspicion of potential damage, or for certification purposes. In particular, we are a specialized test laboratory for welding procedure qualifications and welder qualifications.
How do we conduct macroscopic examination?
Macroscopic examination, also called macrotest or macro-examination, is a destructive metal test that assesses the quality and consistency of a test sample based on visual inspection. Before macroscopic examination begins, the test sample must be prepared according to specification. We perform macroscopic examination on all types of metals and alloys, both during the development phase and on finished products.
