At MT Veendam, we not only perform optical emission spectrometry in our laboratory, but also on-site. An example of this was a project where we performed chemical analysis on parts of a bridge to determine the exact material type.
For this project, we had to determine the chemical composition of the bridge material on-site. With our mobile optical emission spectrometry (OES) equipment, we were able to identify the material type without having to take samples. Later, additional pieces were taken from the bridge to perform tensile tests so that the constructor could calculate the maximum span allowed for this bridge, taking into account current regulations.
In addition to our laboratory services, we also offer optical emission spectrometry on-site. This is particularly useful for large structures, such as bridges or buildings, where it is not practical to transport samples to the lab.
